I'm thinking of starting with this book. Anyone read it?
We also teach the dreidel game. This is a favorite of the kids. After we teach it the kids love to play it all year long.
My kiddos have also been loving create your own word search activities. They fill in the vocabulary words, then fill in the rest of the boxes with random letters. The best part is letting their friends solve their word search. So I have a Hanukkah one! Yay!
All of this is included in my Hanukkah freebie pack. Plus a little Hanukkah words to know reference sheet.
You can pick up this freebie pack in my teachers pay teachers store. Click on the picture to download it.
I love to hear if you have any Hanukkah resources! So I''m making this a link up. Link up any paid products, clipart, freebies, blog posts that relate to hanukkah.
Love the freebies! Thank you!

ReplyDeleteThe NUN image you have is actually a different letter (a chaf). Also, on Chanukah, we use a Chanukiah, not a Menorah. A chanukiah has 9 branches, and a menorah has 7. Menorahs are simply a candelabra.
ReplyDeleteI’ve noticed that where you have the dreidel Hebrew letters one is incorrect, the nun. It should look like נ not the chag, which is כ.
ReplyDeleteNot chag but chaf. But she’s correct— it’s not a nun. A chanukiah is a type of menorah. That’s why sometimes it’s called a Chanukah menorah. And we light it at night, so one candle for each night. Kudos to you for plunging into this unfamiliar holiday!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kindness 😊 🙏
ReplyDeleteHi from Israel,
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, great of you to try and make accessible Hanukkah for kids...
Unfortunately, some of your activities are based on false information, though the activities are so lovely.
Anyway, the draidle is made of 4 letters;
N- נ - NUN letter - stands for "nes"-miracle
G- ג - GIMEL letter - stands for "gadol"- great, big
H- ה - HEY letter - stands for "haya"- was
P- פ - PEY letter - stands for "po"- here ( if the draidle is in Israel)
OR
SH- ש - SHIN letter - stands for "sham" - there ( if the draidle is out of Israel)
And it's all about the miracle that happened to the Jewish people during the Greek dominance on jews in Israel.
Hope I helped,
happy Hanukkah 🇮🇱🎊🎉
