Monday Made it.

So apparently it's Monday again . I am having trouble keeping my days straight. I think that is a good sign though.

So this week I have two projects to share with you! I've also included some freebies so you can make them too!

The first one was based off of this pin here.

This jar is filled with ideas on how to be kind and make someone's day a little better. From helping someone clean their desk, to writing a friendly letter, to smiling and saying hi to someone you don't normally say hi too.

I loved this idea! Many times when a student would would do something unkind, say a rude comment for example, I would have the student apologize, but it never really felt like the anything was solved. With this jar if, you put negative energy out into the world, you make up for it by putting some positive energy out there!

I think I will use this jar in the first few weeks of school to introduce it. Having two kids a day pick a strip in the morning and then share out in the afternoon what they did. Then we can use it the rest of the year as the need arises.

So here is how I made mine.

I started with an old artichoke hearts jar that was sitting on top of my fridge.

I then needed to remove the label. That proved difficult. I ended up soaking the jar in hot water and baking soda for a few hours and scrubbed off the label with the rough side of the sponge.

Then I got to work on creating the cards to go on the inside, as well as the label for the jar. I printed them out and laminated them. (I am thankful for my laminator everyday, best investment ever)

Then after a quick trip to Michael's I was ready to work. I think biscuit wanted to help. Or stop me from working. One or the other.

I glued the label to a piece of card stock, and used mode podge to attach the label to the jar. I used mode podge again to affix card stock to the lid, and added a ribbon!

Here's the final product.

From the pinterest link you can get the template they used, however it was christmas themed and I wanted mine to be used all year, so I made my own template. You can grab it off google docks here!

Onto my second project of the week!

This time I was inspired by this pin. I loved it because I am constantly making to do lists and leaving them places. This would be great because it is decorative and it would stay put.

I thought it might be fun to make some cute stationary instead of putting plain paper in there, so I set out to make some.

You can get all of these stationary pages for free in my Teacher's Pay Teachers store. They will print on an 81/2 by 11 piece of paper, but if you want them to fit a smaller frame then I would suggest printing using the setting you would for printing pictures in whatever size your frame is.

(I've got some other free stuff on their as well. If you downloaded this or anything else please, please leave feedback! Thanks!)

So side note, I didn't have a spare frame lying around (I'll get one of those when I make it out to the dollar store). So for the purposes of this photo I took out my graduation photo and used that frame. Lol.

Aren't we cute! This is me and my boyfriend in 2008, the day he graduated with his bachelors and I with my credential. I love this pic because it's one of the rare one's where my boyfriend is smiling even though it looks like I have no arm.

So I put my todo list into, wrote on the top with an expo marker and TADA!

You can see my to do list is quite short today. Hey it's summer!

Anyway, that was a long post! Thanks for sticking with me. Now I'm off to se what everyone else has created this week!

  5. I love both of your projects. It think the Random acts of Kindness jar is such a great idea and I really appreciate you sharing your PDF!

Your framed to do list also came out super cute. I have been thinking about doing one as well that goes along with my room theme. I like your layout so I will probably just recreate it like that. By the way, that is an adorable picture of your guys that has been temporarily replaced :-)

    Thanks so much for sharing.
