It's Monday Made it time again!

Hi everyone,

Before I get to my Monday Made it for the week I want to take care of a little business.

First off I want to thank everyone who commented on my last post about procedures and routines. I got some really good advice and some things to think about. I guess it's been on everyone's mind because Christina Bainbridge is have a doc-y party. Basically it's a google doc where everyone can add their advice for first day procedures. Then she will edit into a PDF for us all. Super cool idea!

Click here to go to her site,  if you want to read or add your advice!

I said I would give away something from my store to a random person who commented with advice.  I used the random number generator and Angi from First-Graders from Outer Space is the winner! Angi, comment with your email and what you want and I will send it your way!

Next up!

I am planning a giveaway, and I want this one to be big and exciting! I already have one person lined up. If you are willing to give either $5 or $10 dollars away to your store comment and let me know. I would like to get two or three more bloggers in on this. Thanks! I'm really excited!

All right! On to My Monday Made it!

So this week. I started a trillion projects. A what can I write about board, pencil canisters, a library organization system, a daily 5 clip chart and birthday gallons. I started them, but couldn't finish because I ran out of hot glue. Sad :-( So all those projects can wait for a future Monday Made it when I get some glue.

I did finish one project though, sort of. I made a sample.

I started with a regular tin can. Washed it and peeled off the label.

Then I started to work on the label. I used scrap paper. I'm going to have each pencil cup match the supply labels I made in a previous post.

Table 4 is green so I used green scrap paper to make the label. I lined the can up and made a mark with a pen. Then I folded the paper up at the line and cut off the excess.

After that I added one of those punch out numbers that I had lying around from my last project. I'd seen other tutorials on the internet where they just attached the paper, but that just didn't seem like it would hold up, so I laminated it.

Then I hot glued it to the can and Voila! These are going to sit on the tables and hold pencils. All I need to do is to eat some more canned food, get more hot glue and pick up some more scrap paper. But at least I finished this one to show you all.

All right that's it for me! I'm off to see what everyone else has made. Don't for get to leave me a comment if you want to help me out with my giveaway!
