Freebie Friday!

I am so proud that I was able to post each day of Teacher week. Especially because it was my first week back for PD. I have high hopes that I'll be able to continue blogging regularly once school starts. I'm already excited to share with you some of my first activities once the school year starts rolling.

I have two freebies for you.

The first one is pretty much just for anyone using Class DoJo this year. If you're not, scroll on down to the next freebie :-) If you want to read more about Class Dojo click here

I am so excited to use this behavior management program from the start with my kids this year. I want them to help me decide what behaviors they think deserve points and what they think points should be taken away for. After I introduce the program I plan on doing this little activity with them.

Students will draw a picture comic style of the little monsters doing something that can earn them a point in the top box. Then they will draw a picture of the little monsters doing something that will lose them a point. They can even cut out the cute little monsters and place them in the drawing if they want. I think these will look super cute and help the students learn what points are given for/taken away for.

The Next Freebie I have for you in from my back to school pack available in my shop.

These are a set of procedure cards. Here is how I plan on using them in my classroom.

After all the procedures have been taught- I suppose after the second week or so. I will pull out these cards. When we have extra time in the day I will read a card, for example, What should I do with unsharpened pencils? I will then call on a student and if they get it right, (which they should because I plan on drilling these procedures over and over again) they can choose a SMALL prize. I know some teachers use I skittle or M&M. I have smelly stickers and mini erasers. It's just a quick way to review procedures and make it fun.

I have this available as an editable power point so you can change it up and add your own procedures.

If you want to check out the pack that this activity came from I have it on my Teachers pay Teachers site.

One week of PD left then I meet my kiddos! I'm getting nervous/excited!

  3. Hi Cassandra - Kalen from ClassDojo here. Thank you so much for taking the time to write this post - what an amazing activity! We would absolutely LOVE to see the comics the students come up with (and maybe even feature them on our blog!). Shoot me an email at kalen@classdojo.com if you're willing to send over more info about how it all went! :)

    Cheers!
