Monday Made it ( a little late)

So I am LOVING reading everyone's first day stories. They are definitely getting me amped for meeting my kiddos in a week. For now, I am still setting up my room (pictures should be up by Friday at the latest) and going to meetings.

I did meet one of my kiddos today. His mom works at the school and he wandered up to my room to check it out. He wanted to make sure I knew how to spell his name correctly because apparently a lot of people spell it wrong. Too cute. He is definitely a sweetie, I hope the rest of my class is that sweet :-)

So for Monday Made it I have two projects. First, I made some pinterest inspired scrapbook clothespins.

Last year I used string and paper clips to hang out student work.  I didn't really like it for various reasons.  It looked silly when there was no work up, the string fell down occasionally, it was annoying to put up work. I'm a little picky I guess.

This year I am going to use cute  scrapbook paper covered clothespins to hang their work.

I started by tracing the clothespin onto the scrapbook paper and cutting them out.

I then put a layer of mod podge directly onto the clothespin, put the paper on it, and finished with another layer of mod podge.

I think they turned out super cute. I attached them to the wall using a tiny piece of velcro. This is what they will look like hanging with student work.

I love it!

My second project was a digital one. I wanted to put up some number words so my students had a reference for how to spell them. I also thought it would be handy to have a base 10 and money reference as well so my kiddos get use to seeing numbers broken down this way.

They are hanging below my AWESOME alphabet line made by Kristin at Ladybugs Teacher Files

I have the posters up in my shop if you are interested.

Happy Tuesday Everyone!
