Monday Made it!

I missed last week, but I'm back! Link up with Tara to show your creations!

This week I was working on continuing my behavior plan. I blogged about my modified super improvers wall here.

Then I was thinking about a whole class behavior plan. I really liked the idea of those cute brownie point pans. I like how visual it is.

But I didn't want it to be based on JUST compliments from other teachers. Also my school frowns on using sweets (even imaginary ones).

One year I used a bead jar. I added beads whenever I thought the kids deserved them. There were a few problems with this.

1. The beads were small and the jar was large. It tools months for the kids to earn something.
2. There was no set expectations for earning beads. I didn't clearly define what they could  and couldn't earn beads for.

It worked okay, but I wanted to change it up a little bit. Here's what I came up with.

I am going to display this poster next to a "Jar"

The kids can earn beads to add to the jar when they display the behaviors on the poster.

Here are the beads that I used. I believe that I bought them at Michael's.

I hot glued the magnets onto the beads, I plan to keep them in a a basket next to the poster. When the students fill up the jar I plan to give them what I call free choice centers. It's basically like a Friday fun time, kids get to choose their activities. I'm thinking they will earn this twice a month or so.

Here's what it looks like on my fridge.

What do you think?

If you like this system you can pick it up in my store for free.

Happy Monday everyone!

  4. Aw those turned out great! I forgot about hot gluing magnets to things- duh! I am actually in the process of making magnets and hot glue would be so much easier to use! Thanks!
