I've been BOO-ed!

I am participating in a super fun October linky from Tori's Teacher Tips. Here are the rules!

If you've been booed, copy and paste the above pic and these "rules" into your post.

1.  Give a shout out to the blogger who booed you and link back to their site!
2. Share 3-5 October activities, books, products (yours or someone else),
or freebie(s) that you love!
3.  Share the Boo love with 5 bloggers- make sure you check this link to make sure you don't boo someone again:
 http://toristeachertips.blogspot.com/2012/10/ive-been-booed-fun-october-linky.html
And don't forget to tell them that they have been BOOED!
4.  Link up {here} so that others can find you and read about your October ideas!  And while you are there... check out the other great blogs!

1. One of my favorite books to read in October is The Spider and the Fly. It is based on a poem by Mary Howitt and the book features wonderful 1920's style artwork. It tells the cautionary tale of a fly who is lured by a very convincing fancy spider.

This story is perfect because we are currently studying fables, and wouldn't you know this poem is a fable! So we will first talk about why we can consider this a fable based on the fables anchor chart we've already made.

Then we will be ready to make this cute (Free) spider craft by amy lemons

However I think I am going to make him some different eyes, and a fancy top hat to go with the book.

YES!

All that's left to do is discuss the character traits of the spider in the poem and use it to write our own poems from amy's freebie pack.

2. We having been loving the Halloween activities in my Super Literacy pack.

A favorite so far is the acrostic poems. So I'm giving one out as a freebie today. Hooray!

Click the pic above to access this freebie on google docs.

Once it gets a little closer to halloween I am going to try out the recipes I included. I just know that's going to be a hit as well.

You can click here to view all that's included in my pack!

3. We also usually do a fall still life

I buy little pumpkins, corn, and boards from the grocery store for each table and the kids draw them. Afterwards I usually raffle them off and the kids are super excited to win ears of corn. Go figure.

All right I nominate

Before I go I want to tell you about a cool new blog for second grade teachers (like me!) It's second grade freebies and I am a contributor. Go check it out and pick up a math freebie I just posted!
