Happy Birthday Roald Dahl!

Today is Roald Dahl's birthday, so to celebrate we made him cards, had peach smoothies, watched his brain pop video and of course continued reading James and the Giant Peach. This is a fantastic Read aloud for second graders if anyone is in the market.

Here's some of the activities we've done with the book this week.

We learned new vocabulary

We painted pictures of James' house up on the desolate hill. (water color construction paper and sharpie)

We went on a scavenger hunt to find bug facts.

and we made some little bug friends to hang up on the wall.

I just love this book. I read it every year. I love that about being a teacher. It really never gets old. Hope everyone is having a fantastic week!
